Chief Operating Officer

Location: Dallas, TX (hybrid, regular travel to Tokyo)
Compensation: $230,000 – $300,000 per year

About the Role

As Chief Operating Officer you will run the day-to-day business across our Dallas and Tokyo offices and be the right hand of the founding team. You will turn our growth plans into clear priorities, strong processes and a team that delivers for clients.

You will be a trusted partner to the founders and the person the whole team turns to for clarity on priorities, process and execution. Your decisions will shape how Kaiser grows from a small, close-knit team into a lasting international firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead operations across marketing, business setup, business communication, recruitment and event support
  • Set annual goals and track results with the leadership team
  • Build the systems, budgets and reporting that let a small firm scale well
  • Manage and develop the heads of each service line and both offices
  • Own client delivery quality, staffing and profitability
  • Help shape strategy, partnerships and hiring plans
  • Represent Kaiser International with key clients and partners
  • Develop and execute an operating plan across all five service lines
  • Establish performance metrics, dashboards and review routines
  • Oversee finance, legal, HR and technology functions
  • Lead hiring plans and organization design as the team grows
  • Build partnerships with law firms, banks, recruiters and local providers
  • Serve as an executive sponsor for strategic clients
  • Model our culture and values and represent Kaiser International LLC with clients, partners and candidates
  • Report on progress and priorities to the founders and board

Qualifications

  • 10+ years of experience in operations or general management, including 5+ years leading teams
  • Experience in consulting, professional services or international business
  • Strong financial sense: budgeting, pricing and profitability
  • Clear communicator who builds trust with clients and teams
  • Comfortable working across time zones and cultures; Japanese language skills a plus
  • Willingness to travel between Dallas and Tokyo several times a year
  • Bachelor degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred
  • Track record of scaling a services business or an international office
  • Experience managing a profit and loss statement
  • Candidates authorized to work in the U.S. or Japan are encouraged to apply

Compensation and Benefits

As a full-time Kaiser International employee you will receive:

  • Base salary range of $230,000 to $300,000 per year, with annual bonus eligibility
